No, It Won't Work That Way (Part 2)

Let's back away to a distance and view the grandeur of John's Apocalypse from a distance. One thing which sticks out is the paradoxical assurance of joy increasing even as things trend ineluctably down hill for the human race. More to the point, John points out the whole of mankind, particularly in human government, will harden against God's Laws. He indicates this will come in part through a conditioning process which will cause the human race as a whole to reject a priori any part of God's commands before discussing what government should be like and what it should do. The entire cultural milieu of humanity will embrace the very things God says we should not do, such that every human organization will be infected by it. He raises the issue of the Harlot Church before churches ever gained much organization, and certainly had nothing we could label an "institution." This is what we should expect; we should be very cynical about the chances any part of human progress will include something God demands. Does anybody not see the hand of Satan in this trend?

At the same time, he makes it obligatory for believers to overpower that Kingdom of Darkness. Even Paul's letters include mention of a necessity for us to trend in the opposite direction. Not just in a general spiritual sense of individual growth, but with a fairly concrete expectation you and I will reduce barriers to fellowship in such a way our power to overcome will increase. Obviously the meaning of "overcome" is highly qualified with overtones of emphasis on the Spirit Realm, but we are not off the hook for pragmatic application. Since it's already obvious we cannot assume this applies to our institutional organizations, as if we could expect a peaceful and spiritual merger of our many denominations as some preach, it should be clear we are obliged to conduct a merger on some other level.

I've had a very eclectic exposure to the various defining theological documents produced in organized Christian religions. Indeed, I've actually been a member of several different brands here in the US, and cooperated with quite a few more. I can't imagine too many of them having built in rejections for what I teach about the Code of Noah. I may find terminology a challenge in places, but telling folks the world needs to repent and do what's right, and describing "right" in terms of "love God, love your neighbor" is already included in most of them, even if de-emphasized in some ways. That the Apostles seemed to expect a certain ground of unity is not open to question. In other words, if there's a better grounds for unity, I'd love to hear about it.

What should we expect from modern Western governments? In a word, greed. I've tried to draw a picture of demon-infested bureaucracy, but with a distinct plan. The trend of human history is the path to Babylon. The best way to understand, and to build expectations, regarding future actions of the US government in particular, and most other governments to varying degrees, is to follow the money. Whether we discuss bankers, the International Merchant Culture, the Illuminati, etc., it's much simpler of we use the biblical frame of reference in calling it all Babylon. The Apostle John paints the image of wealth as the whole point. The Spirit of Babylon is particularly offended at our Savior's command we make Him our God, not Babylon, so that we discount the importance of wealth in our decisions. The conflict between our faith and our government will arise from that primary element of contention.

It manifests in all manner of ways. Mostly it's a case of moneyed interests manipulating government policy to maximize profits. Forced inoculations? It has nothing to do with health and welfare of the population, and everything to do with Big Pharma selling their poisons to government. A crack-down on homeopathic medicine and natural nutritional supplements? More of the same Big Pharma. Raiding a non-government silver and gold mint? They need no other reason than simple confiscation of gold and silver, and the legal paperwork is just the vehicle. The discouragement from competition with the Fed and the US Mint is just an added bonus. Plans to restrict and confiscate arms and ammo simply make it easier to pull off the raids we should expect with increasing frequency. In other words, if you aren't a member of the elite club of moneyed interests, you don't get to play, never mind get to compete on a level playing field.

Every step of the way, consider how official announcements, media propaganda slants, actions on the ground, and who is involved, all point back to Babylon. That we are entangled with Israel in all this simply adds a few layers of complexity, but it does not change the fundamental nature what happens. This is the biblical understanding of human government. All this scratching and complaining about what is constitutional simply lets Babylon choose the battlefield; it's yielding too much. The real battlefield is spiritual, and human legislation is just tactics, which includes the Constitution. If writing and adopting the Constitution didn't fix anything, why should we expect forcing a return to it to fix anything? The issue remains human sinfulness, but we can't afford to allow the terminology to kick it back down to your latest Vacation Bible School lesson. This is cosmic level battle dropping on your heads and kicking you out into the streets.

The only response worthy of our efforts is enforcing Noah's Code. I've offered two different approaches to looking at this, via the series Making Noah Work and Biblical Rebellion. It's obvious we are constrained in how far we can bring Noah to life, but less so in how far we can go in calling for it. There will increasingly come consequences for pushing that message as we slide down the police state slope, but whether in word or deed, it is our duty to reveal that message.

At the fundamental level of eternal commitment, we reject Babylon. That is death, and dead where it stands. What few want to consider is how keeping a Western philosophical orientation is a part of Babylon. We cannot expect to escape Babylon if we bind ourselves to the epistemology which gave it life. Nothing in Western logic gives serious consideration to things humans cannot claim to control intellectually. Give it any label you like, but biblical thinking is not limited to human intellectual grasp, but assumes what matters most is beyond it. Paradox is common because some things can't be explained. Demanding a rational discourse leaves us with shameful disputes over whether to emphasize God's sovereignty (Calvinism) or our accountability to Him (Arminianism) because they are logically exclusive. Paul, for example, asserts both, and disputing parties are guilty of massive semantic abuse. How silly. The entire debate assumes the ground on which Babylon is built.

Don't get caught up in the grounds for division. Pay no heed to organizational distinctives. Doing God's work means building on Noah's ground, the earth swept clean by God's wrath. Sin will ever grow where fallen men breathe, but the vision of faithful service to Our King remains our goal. Pray for HR 1207 to pass, if only as a way of revealing sin. More importantly, pray for a vision of how God wants you to implement the Code of Noah. If you are sincere, you will most certainly find yourself called to something which will get you in trouble with the folks around you, and surely with the various government bureaucrats. Turn away from the things which our world considers important and sinners will take it personally. Don't think the demons won't prod their charges against you, but you need not surrender by descending to their level. Your victory is simply not caring enough about such things to waste time and effort on it. Your victory is demanding and performing on the basis of God's demands.

The only question you must answer for yourself is how that plays out in terms of each moment. What form of resistance must you offer sinful demands in order to please God? What is the best way at that moment to reveal His glory and His message?
